Taylor Lautner’s movie “Abduction” will arrive in theaters on September 23rd. Sometime in December the movie is set to become available to rent through Video On Demand services, according to TIME. The price of the rental will be $6.99. The film will then arrive on Blu-ray and DVD sometime in January.
Movie companies are beginning to realize that people may not want to pay movie theater prices when they are watching a film at home, even if they get to see the movie right when it releases to theaters, so the movie companies are trying out a new system of lowering the price to under $10 and still letting viewers see the movie at home before it arrives on DVD.
Would you pay $6.99 to rent “Abduction” three months after it releases, but one month before it’s available to purchase or rent for a lower price?
