The Bridge To Never Land Book Review

The Bridge To Never Land Book Review: "

Disney-Hyperion Books has released a new novel today titled The Bridge To Never Land. The book is brought to you from the authors of the best-selling Starcatchers series – Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Here is the description of the book, which was written for kids ages 10 and up:

“The Bridge To Never Land will take Sarah and Aidan on a quest that will challenge them to solve a series of puzzles, which will gradually convince them that Peter Pan is not fiction after all. They will discover what happened to the remainder of the starstuff cache that Wendy and Peter fought to protect many years ago. But that’s only the beginning. They’ll find that in the early twentieth century, Wendy and the other Starcatchers embarked on one last great mission – to find a way to protect Never Land island, with magical creatures and its precious starstuff supply, from the increasingly intrusive outside world.”

The book, over 400 pages long, was so good that we read it in three days. We enjoyed that it was written like a typical mystery novel, but that modern devices, like Google Maps, were used, making it a very real story. We also really loved that the characters end up searching for an important piece of the puzzle in the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! It was obvious that the writers did a lot of research at the park – getting all of the details just right, and when we read the novel we felt like we were really there with the characters, which was fun of course!

The storyline in the novel flowed really well, and even though the book was all about magic and fairy tales, we never questioned the characters actions or their journey. It was fun to take our minds out of the real world and read about fantasy lands, mystical characters and exciting puzzles that needed to be solved.

One part of the book that stood out to us that we thought you would love is this:

“The police van was drifting slowly back to earth, but the three officers were not at all concerned. The female in front-Janine-was continuing her floating flirtation with Tommy in back. The third cop was still upside down; at the moment he was signing what sounded like ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus. He did not notice when Aidan leaned forward and unclipped the key ring from his belt.”

We think this is a great book for any age, and we highly recommend that you pick this book up and read it! Let us know if you do!
