“The Fox and the Hound” has always been one of our favorite classic Disney movies. We love the characters Tod, a fox cub, and Copper, a puppy. The duo don’t realize how different they are and they pledge that they will be forever friends. However, when they get older they realize that Copper is trained to hunt foxes – oh no! It’s heart wrenching to watch these two know deep down that they want to be friends, but to see the boundaries that are placed on them in their lives that cause them to grow apart from each other.
The duo come back for another movie in “The Fox and the Hound 2.” This movie has a lot more musical elements, making it yet another exciting Disney film. Here is the description of the movie:
“In The Fox and the Hound 2, music takes centerstage as Tod contemplates joining up with ‘the Singin’ Strays,’ a group of harmonizing dogs appearing at the local county fair but dreaming of hitting the big time at the Grand Ole Opry. While Tod does his best to fit in with his new friends, Copper finds himself relegated to ‘roadie,’ a position he begins to resent. With the encouragement of Dixie, the ‘diva’ of ‘The Singin’ Strays,’ Copper manages to sabotage an important audition. The next day, their differences forgotten, Copper and Tod team up and, using Copper’s superior tracking skills, they locate the Grand Ole Opry talent scount who signs ‘The Singin’ Strays’ (minus Tod, who chooses his friendship with Copper over fame) on the spot.”
We had never seen “The Fox and the Hound 2″ before, but we’re really glad that Disney decided to release it along with the original movie. It was fun to watch and we enjoyed seeing some of our favorite Disney characters join together on screen again.
